Special Needs Cheerleading

Our special needs cheerleading activity is now active in Tigard on Friday afternoons. Heidi von Marbod is an elementary special education teacher from Vancouver, who also teaches adaptive P.E. and creative movement, is getting it going. She has a lot of high school cheerleader volunteers from Lincoln and Cleveland High and we'll have one-on-one volunteers to participants. The program is open to boys and girls age 6 and up through adults. The sessions are free and we will do fundraising to pay for the uniforms. We plan to perform at the state Special Olympics tournament in Hillsboro on June 27.

What You Will Need

• T-shirts
• Shorts
• Shoes with a fairly smooth sole, no waffle soles that could tear up the mats
• Water bottle
